Her Favourite Things: 10 Years of Separation

It was booked, and she sat in that cabin with other 400 and so people heading to the same and yet different destination.

Her destination was him, his thoughts, his green eyes, his arms, and quiet cynical voice.

She was agitated, reaching the point of eruption with her confused emotions.  It has been 10 years since they last said good bye.  Ten years since she last witnessed his saddened face from behind her tears, as he ran after the bus that carried her away.

She landed, went through customs, and ran that long corridor leading to the waiting area. She reached it and stopped “Would he recognize me? Would I recognize him? Are we still the same? Can we understand each other? Will he be there, waiting for me?”…
There were so many people waiting for their loved ones to exit the gate.

Then she glimpsed him, standing tall, looking straight at her with that same quiet smile.
They ran to each other along the line, separated by the crowd, with their eyes not seeing anyone else.

They hugged, and it was the same. They laughed and it was the same, they joked and it was the same.

Meeting him again, is still one of her favourite things.
